Amy Adkins is executive vice president and general counsel for the SHAZAM Network. She’s responsible for the company’s operating rules; contracts; processing agreements; legislative and regulatory issues; and corporate governance aspects relating to SHAZAM, Inc., and its two affiliated companies.
Amy provides legal assistance on matters affecting the industry; monitors federal and state laws and regulations; and establishes and maintains solid, effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, governmental agencies and trade associations. Amy reviews and provides guidance on risk management and compliance issues affecting SHAZAM, SHAZAM’s financial institutions and the organizations with which they've established relationships.
Amy joined SHAZAM in 2007 as a compliance analyst, and she joined the legal department in 2013. She was promoted to executive vice president and general counsel in 2017. Prior to SHAZAM, Amy worked for several community-based financial institutions as a compliance officer. She’s a member of the Polk County Bar Association, the National Association of Corporate Counsel and the Iowa State Bar Association, where she serves on the e-commerce section. She’s also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Amy graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington.
