Amber Shand

Amber Shand MBCS is a skilled Software Engineer currently employed at Skyscanner since July 2023. In addition to this role, Amber founded and leads the community initiative Amber Bytes Back, aimed at empowering women in tech, with a subscriber base of 3,000. Amber has also served as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant for Hustle Crew and as an Ambassador for Women Techmakers. Previous experience includes being a Brand Ambassador, Fellow, and Python Instructor at Code First Girls, and co-hosting the podcast Glowing in Tech, which highlights the experiences of black women in the software engineering field. Amber's technical background includes roles at CybSafe as a Frontend Engineer and at American Express as a Junior Software Engineer. Educationally, Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from the University of Leicester.
