Hilary Cheung

Hilary Cheung currently serves as a Jr. Graphic Designer at Roc Nation, focusing on asset production for various creative projects involving digital media, branding, and merchandise. In addition, Hilary is a Freelance Graphic Designer for Mutual Friends, creating promotional graphic assets for artists in the music industry. Hilary engages with industry organizations as a GRAMMY U Member and a member of Hilary Is The Music, supporting initiatives that promote women in music. Additionally, Hilary participates as a Virtual Street Team Member for Fan To Band, gaining insights and networking opportunities within the music sector. Prior experience includes coordinating events at Pratt Institute, where Hilary organized large-scale activities for the student community while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design.

She Is The Music

In January 2018, the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative released a study on the music industry revealing a six-year low for female creators in popular music. She Is The Music actively seeks to close this gap by increasing opportunity and visibility for women currently working in music, as well as developing the next generation of women to join the industry and seek leadership roles. As an umbrella nonprofit, we also provide resources and support for female-focused initiatives that are working to create meaningful change. She Is The Music currently holds some of the most successful all-female song-writing camps, with each camp hosted around an established artist. We have created a database which is the industry’s ‘official’ and most comprehensive directory of women working in music, and we also provide a mentorship program, currently in partnership with Step Up.
