Danielle Dumerer

Danielle DuMerer serves as the Vice President of Technology & Information Security at Shedd Aquarium, where responsibility includes advancing technology utilization, developing future direction, and overseeing infrastructure and security. Previously, Danielle was a lecturer at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, teaching a course on leveraging technology for public interest. Danielle's extensive experience in the City of Chicago includes roles as CIO & Commissioner, where leadership encompassed enterprise IT services and large-scale smart city initiatives, and as CTO & First Deputy Commissioner, managing operations and directing IT policy initiatives. Other roles include IT Director at the City of Chicago's Project Management Office, Supervising Technology Editor at McGraw-Hill Education, and consultant and assistant positions in various organizations. Danielle holds a Master's degree in Library Science with a focus on Archives Administration from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
