Mike Vajentic started their career as a Software Programmer and Quality Assurance Manager at The Systems Group in 1994. In 1998, they moved on to work as a Solution Architect at Xerox Connect, Inc. until 2005. After that, they joined LCG Technologies as an Engagement Manager from 2005 to 2006. Since 2006, Mike has been working at SMART Transportation Division, first as a New Systems Architect and currently as the Director of Information Technology.
Mike Vajentic began their education at Elyria Catholic High School, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. After completing high school, they pursued higher education at Kent State University from 1989 to 1993. At Kent State, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History and Computer Science.

We are the SMART Transportation Division, an AFL-CIO affiliate headquartered near Cleveland, Ohio. We are a broad-based, transportation labor union representing about 125,000 active and retired railroad, bus, mass transit and airline workers in the United States. With offices in Cleveland and Washington, D.C., the SMART TD is the largest railroad operating union in North America, with more than 500 locals. The SMART TD (formerly UTU) represents employees on every Class I railroad, as well as employees on many regional and shortline railroads. It also represents bus and mass transit employees on approximately 45 bus and transit systems and has recently grown to include airline pilots, dispatchers and other airport personnel.
