Brian James

Brian James serves as Chairman of Sheffcare since 2023, having been a trustee since 2017, overseeing a charity that operates nine care homes with approximately 450 residents and a staff of over 400, with an annual turnover of around £15 million. In November 2023, Brian assumed the role of Chairman of the Board for the group of care homes in Sheffield. Previously, Brian was Chief Executive at NHS England from March 2012 to March 2018, where support was provided to other Chief Executives in mentorship and high-level project execution. From January 2003 to March 2013, Brian held the position of CEO at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, leading an organization with about 5,000 employees and over £250 million in annual turnover. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Strategy and Innovation for the South Yorkshire Strategic Health Authority, focusing on strategic direction for 19 health organizations. Brian holds a Master's degree in Health Information Management from The University of Manchester.
