Gail Orton

Gail Orton is a seasoned professional in government relations and public policy, currently serving as Senior Director of Government Relations Europe at SHEIN since September 2023. Previously, Gail held the position of Head of EU Public Policy at Clifford Chance from September 2018 to August 2023, and served as Director of Government Affairs for Europe at Tate & Lyle Sugars from September 2014 to August 2018. Earlier roles included Director of EU Public Policy and Public Policy Advisor at Clifford Chance, as well as a part-time secondment at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Gail began a career in public affairs as an EU Public Affairs Consultant at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and has experience with the European Commission. Academic credentials include a First Class Honours MA in Economics from The University of Edinburgh, along with studies at the College of Europe, UBI Business School, and Universidad de Salamanca.
