Rachel Rice

Senior Epidemiologist- Immunization Program at SHELBY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Rachel Rice is a dedicated public health professional with extensive experience in epidemiology and data analysis. Since January 2020, Rachel has served as a Senior Epidemiologist and Public Health Data Analyst in the Immunization Program at the Shelby County Government Health Department, also holding a position as an Opioid Epidemiologist. Prior experience includes a role as a Summer Intern in Disease Control at the Jefferson County Department of Health and serving as a Teaching Assistant at the UAB School of Public Health. Rachel’s background also features work as a TRIO STEM Tutor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and internships focused on outreach and data management with the Food Bank of North Alabama. Rachel holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
