Ahfaz Ahmed

Ahfaz Ahmed, PhD, is an experienced professional in fuel development and engineering, currently serving as the F1 Fuel Development Lead at Shell since June 2022, where responsibilities include leading advanced sustainable fuel development for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team. Prior to this role, Ahfaz was a Technical Project Manager at P1 Fuels, focusing on sustainable fuel development for the World Rally Championship and ensuring GHG compliance and certification. Additionally, Ahfaz has held postdoctoral positions at Chalmers University of Technology and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), conducting research on fuel properties, machine learning applications, and alternative fuels such as ammonia and hydrogen. Earlier experience includes research roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, along with managerial experience at Tata Motors in engine development and calibration. Academic credentials include a PhD in Fuel Design and Development from KAUST and a Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
