Kirsten Van der Zwan is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in data privacy, AI governance, and corporate law. Currently serving as Group Data Digital & Privacy Senior Legal Counsel at Shell, Kirsten leads a global AI Governance, Risk and Compliance program and provides data privacy counsel across various sectors including Energy and eMobility. Previously, as Head of Legal and General Counsel Europe at Shell Recharge, Kirsten built and managed a legal team, optimized legal operations, and supported compliant growth in the fast-evolving eMobility ecosystem. With a foundation laid as an attorney at law in several firms, including Strauswolfs and Davids Advocaten B.V., Kirsten has developed a robust expertise in M&A and data protection. Education includes an LL.M in Law from the University of Amsterdam and a degree from the Grotius Academie.
