Lorna Smith

Lorna Smith currently serves as the Interim Assistant Director of HR at Shelter UK, a position held since 2025. Previously, Lorna held the role of Head of HR (ER/HRBP) at Shelter from 2022 to 2024, and before that, served as Head of HR at William Lee Ltd from 2015 to 2022. From 2005 to 2015, Lorna was the Senior HR Business Partner and Head of Conduct at South Yorkshire Police. Lorna's earlier experience includes working as the Agenda for Change HR Manager at Sheffield Primary Care Trusts & South Yorkshire Strategic Health Authority from 2003 to 2005, and as a Consultancy Officer & Events Co-ordinator at the University of Sheffield from 2002 to 2003. Lorna's educational background includes a BA hons in History from The University of Sheffield and a Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Personnel & Development, along with qualifications in Employment Law, Employee Relations, L&D, and HR Management from Sheffield College and Manchester School of Arts & Technology.
