Dan Kelly

Dan Kelly is an experienced professional in the field of social work and homelessness services, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County since May 2017. In this role, Dan leads efforts to end homelessness through emergency shelter and diverse support services. As an adjunct faculty member at Oakland University, Dan teaches macro social work concepts, including program design and policy advocacy. Previous leadership roles include Executive Director at Spero Housing Group and Director of Housing at South Oakland Shelter, where Dan significantly impacted housing solutions for low-income individuals. Dan's educational background includes a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's of Science in Anthropology from Michigan State University.

Shelter Association of Washtenaw County

The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County provides temporary shelter and connections to services in a safe and caring environment and works with the community to allocate the necessary resources to meet the needs of people who are experiencing homelessness. ​The Shelter Association serves nearly 1500 adults experiencing homelessness each year. We serve nearly all of the individual adults experiencing homelessness in Washtenaw County. ​ We are housed at the Robert J. Delonis Center on the edge of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
