Steven Pyle

Site Reliability Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Shelterluv

Steven Pyle has a diverse work experience dating back to 1995. Steven started their career as a Programmer at Expo Registration, where they served as a System Administrator for Unix servers and developed convention registration and lead generation systems.

In 1996, they joined The Gem Group as a Programmer and worked there until 2000. From 2000 to 2005, Steven was a Senior Systems Software Engineer at Sycamore Networks, where they administered on-premise Unix and Linux server farms, Oracle databases, and developed middleware and web applications.

Steven joined Liberty Mutual Insurance in 2005 as a Principal Software Engineer, responsible for developing Java web applications, acting as a Technical Lead for an external-facing SharePoint portal, and conducting performance tuning and design of application databases.

Steven then worked at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth as a Senior Programmer from 2009 to 2011, and subsequently from 2011 to 2017. During their time there, they played a key role in the BioInformatics Group.

In 2017, Steven joined Achievement Network (ANet) as a Senior Software Engineer, where they administered AWS infrastructure, developed and maintained Go microservices and Angular front-end applications, and managed the CI/CD pipeline.

Most recently, they joined Shelterluv in 2020. Steven started as a Senior Software Engineer and later became a Site Reliability Engineer and Senior Software Engineer.

Steven Pyle completed their education with a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Brandeis University, attending from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dickinson College, where they studied from 1990 to 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Steven has also obtained the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2023.
