Susan later pursued a Master of Music (M.M.) degree in Piano Performance from the Yale School of Music, completing it from 1983 to 1985. Susan then went on to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in Professional Studies, specializing in Piano Performance, at the Manhattan School of Music, attending from 1986 to 1988. Prior to their university education, Susan earned an Artists' Diploma in Piano and Flute Performance from the Westchester Conservatory of Music, which they attended from 1968 to 1980. Furthermore, they acquired a Certificate in Piano, Theory, Solfege, and Chamber Music from the Fontainebleau Ecole de Musique in 1981. Additionally, Susan participated in the Chautauqua Music Festival in 1983 and obtained their high school diploma from Rye Country Day School from 1978 to 1980.
