Rudy Furrer

Head, Technology Marketing at Sherritt International

Rudy Furrer has over 25 years of work experience in various roles within Sherritt International Corporation. Rudy is currently the Head of Technology Marketing, responsible for leveraging Sherritt Technologies' intellectual property assets to deliver metallurgical solutions for clients. In this role, they negotiate and executes commercial and legal matters regarding licensing agreements and other contractual terms.

Prior to this, Rudy worked as a Project Manager at Sherritt International Corporation, where they were involved in major projects such as the Ambatovy Nickel project, Shell's Scotford Upgrader project, and EPCOR's Genesee Phase 3 project. Rudy was responsible for design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Before joining Sherritt International Corporation, Rudy held positions as a Principal Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Engineer III within the same company. Rudy also worked as an Environmental Systems Specialist at SaskPower, where they were responsible for environmental performance evaluations and reporting.

Rudy started their career as a Development Engineer at Teck Resources Limited, where they gained experience in various plant operations and participated in commissioning and start-up activities.

Rudy Furrer, M. Sc., P. Eng. completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan from 1982 to 1988.
