Abir Abdul Rahim

Co-Founder/Director of Asia Women Circle of Lean In Msia and Regional Leader of Lean In Asia at Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation

Abir Abdul Rahim has a diverse work experience background. They began as an Assurance Audit Intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2010, followed by an internship as an Insurance Broker at CIMB. In 2011, they worked as an Actuarial Intern at Moore Stephens UK. From 2013 to 2018, Abir held a role in Actuarial Pricing and Projects at Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad. In 2018, they joined GREAT EASTERN as the Head of Actuarial Pricing (Takaful) and later transitioned to become the Head of Digital Affinity (Takaful) until October 2021. Additionally, Abir had a significant role outside of the insurance industry, as they co-founded and served as the Director of Asia Women Circle of Lean In Malaysia, supported by the Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation. Their current role is as the Head of e-Channel (EFTB & Finance) at Etiqa Insurance and Takaful.

Abir Abdul Rahim received a Master's Degree in MSc Actuarial Management from Bayes Business School in 2011-2012. Prior to that, Abir completed a Bachelor's Degree in BSc Actuarial Science from Swansea University, graduating with First Class Honors in 2008-2011. Abir's earlier education includes obtaining SPM certification from Tunku Kurshiah College in 2004-2005. Additionally, Abir has obtained several certifications related to Agile Leadership and Scrum, including Professional Agile Leadership™ I (PAL I), Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I), and Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I), from Scrum.org in 2022.
