Matt Karas

Matt Karas serves as the Associate General Counsel at Shield AI since August 2022, providing strategic legal support in various areas including national security investigations, compliance, and contracts. Prior to this, Matt held the position of Of Counsel at Taylor Johnson PL for a brief period and spent over thirteen years with the United States Air Force, ultimately serving as Senior Counsel. During that tenure, Matt led a team as a senior legal advisor and was involved in significant defense acquisition programs as a Contracts Attorney. Matt's extensive legal experience is anchored by degrees from the United States Air Force Academy, Drake University Law School, and The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, where Matt earned a Master of Laws in Government Contracts.
