Taryn Laurie

Taryn Laurie has worked for a number of companies since 2006. Taryn began their career at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as a Financial Controller. In 2008, they moved to Deutsche Bank in the same role. In 2013, they joined Triton Express (Pty) Ltd as a Finance/Project Manager. Taryn then worked at Absa Group as a Project Manager Scrum Master from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, they joined IQbusiness South Africa as a Senior Managing Consultant. In 2021, they moved to Smiths Group plc as a Senior Project Manager and in 2022 they joined IFRS Foundation in the same role. Taryn is currently employed at Shieldpay as a Project Manager since 2023.

Taryn Laurie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources & Accounting from Stellenbosch University between 2000 and 2003. Since then, they have obtained certifications from various institutions, including LinkedIn, DAMA, SAP Concur, GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science), Scaled Agile, Inc., AXELOS Global Best Practice, and Knowledge Academy. These certifications include Introduction to ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance, Sustainability Strategies, Sustainability as an Innovation Opportunity, Certified Data Management Professional, Sap Concur - Expense Implementation Certified Consultant, Digital Transformation Stratergy, Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master, PRINCE2® 2017 Practitioner, PRINCE2® Practitioner CPD, and Scrum Master Certified (SMC).
