Ricky McAlister

Ricky McAlister has a strong background in software engineering and leadership roles. Ricky currently serves as the Head of Engineering at Shift, starting in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Zip Co as the Director of Engineering from November 2020 to August 2022. At Zip Co, they were responsible for scaling the software engineering function and implementing agile processes. Before that, Ricky served as the VP Engineering at Rezdy from April 2018 to November 2020, where they focused on scaling the product and engineering function, implementing a microservice architecture, and driving a culture of learning and growth. Ricky also worked as a Tech Lead/Engineering Manager at ManageFlitter from August 2016 to April 2018, leading and scaling software development teams and improving delivery processes. Ricky has held various other roles in companies such as PropertyIQ, News Corp Australia, REBORN, rehabstudio, Glenovation Limited, and DuPont, where they gained experience in software development, team leadership, and technical analysis.

Ricky McAlister completed their Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing Science from Ulster University in the years 2000 to 2002. Ricky then pursued further education at Ulster University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors (Hons) in Computing Science from 2002 to 2005.
