Douglas Bakkum

Douglas Bakkum has a diverse work experience spanning from 2003 to present. From 2003 to 2008, they were a Bioart Collaborator at the Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Western Australia. In 2008, they began a Postdoctoral Fellowship at The University of Tokyo in the Neuroengineering field. From 2010 to 2015, they were a Group Leader at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering. Since 2015, they have been the Co-Founder and CEO of Shift Crypto, where they work on the BitBox products and provides consulting services.

Douglas Bakkum received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. Prior to that, they received a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2002. Douglas also earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000.
