Laurence Kao

Laurence Kao is a seasoned legal and business professional with extensive experience in venture capital, law, and academia. Currently serving as a Partner at Novare Ventures Labs and Managing Partner at OPES Venture Partners since January 2019, Laurence has been instrumental in assisting early-stage startups with access to networks, capital, and market expertise. As the Founder and Managing Partner of OPES IP and Law, Laurence provides effective legal solutions, while also contributing as a Senior Consultant at Lotus International Law Office. Laurence has held adjunct professor roles at both National Chiao Tung University and Shih Hsin University, and previously served as a Senior Attorney at Eastwind Consultants and an Associate at Baker & McKenzie. Laurence holds advanced degrees from Cardozo School of Law, including an LLM in Intellectual Properties and a JD, along with a BS in Engineering from Cornell University.
