Dave Whitt

Dave Whitt's work experience includes roles in various fire and emergency service organizations. Dave currently serves as the Fire Chief at Pioneer Fire Protection District, where their responsibilities include leading and managing the department. Prior to this, they worked as the Interim Fire Chief for Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians and as an Instructor for the Regional Occupation Program Fire Control Technician at El Dorado Union High School District. Dave has also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at American River College and Folsom Lake College. Dave has held positions such as Assistant Chief at Foresthill Fire Protection District, Former Interim Fire Chief at Loomis Fire Protection District, and Fire Chief (Retired) at the City of Lincoln, CA. Dave's career in the fire service began at the Sacramento Fire Department, where they served as a Battalion Chief.

Dave Whitt completed their Bachelor's degree in Vocational Education from California State University-Sacramento in 2003, after which they pursued a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach. Dave successfully graduated from the latter program in 2005.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is a federally recognized Native American Tribe practicing sovereignty and self-sufficiency. Our vision is to empower Tribal Members to thrive in the modern world while preserving their cultural foundations. The Tribe provides healthcare to many within the local community through the Shingle Springs Health and Wellness Center (Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy). We also offer outreach services through the Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo Counties. The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is deeply committed to sustaining and improving the quality of life for both Tribal Members and the general community alike.
