Derek Shigetomi

Derek Shigetomi has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. In 2014, they began their career as a Sales Associate at Canadian Tire Corporation, where they worked until 2017. In 2019, Derek transitioned to a role as a Trade Finance Administrator at Canada Bread Company, Limited, followed by a position as a Web Developer at Jelka Seals Limited from October 2019 to March 2020. In 2021, they worked as a Junior Web Developer & Marketing Co-ordinator at Studio Cycle for a brief period from March to April. Derek also gained experience in software development as a Full-Stack Developer Intern at Shipfusion in 2021. Currently, Derek holds a position as a Full-Stack Software Developer L1 at Shipfusion since January 2022 and was promoted to Full-Stack Software Developer L2 in March 2023.

Derek Shigetomi is a student with an education history that includes two institutions. From 2015 to 2019, they attended Humber College and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Finance. Following this, Derek enrolled in Seneca College in 2019 and is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Programming, with an expected graduation year of 2023. In addition to their formal education, Derek has obtained two certifications. In November 2019, they received a Responsive Web Design Certification from freeCodeCamp. Furthermore, in April 2020, they completed the cs50 - Introduction to Computer Science course from Harvard University.
