Thomas Kopfstedt

Thomas Kopfstedt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Thomas currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at ShiraTech Knowtion since September 2022. Prior to this, they were the Managing Director at Knowtion GmbH from January 2021.

Thomas also has extensive experience in the automotive industry. Thomas worked at Visteon Corporation, where they served as Director Technology Management, Head of ADAS System from September 2019 to December 2020, and as Senior Manager, Head of ADAS System from January 2017 to August 2019.

Before their venture into the automotive industry, Thomas worked at Diehl BGT Defence in different roles. Thomas started as an Entwicklungsingenieur im Fachteam Lenksystemtechnik mit Focus auf unbemannten Systemen from June 2005 to January 2009. Thomas then became a Technical Project Manager Autonomous Systems from February 2009 to October 2014. Later on, they served as the Head of System Safety and Unmanned Systems from November 2014 to June 2015, and as Head of System Safety, Unmanned Systems & HIL from July 2015 to December 2016.

Outside of their corporate roles, Thomas also worked as a Lehrbeauftragter at Hochschule Ravensburg-Weingarten from March 2011 to December 2016.

Thomas Kopfstedt has a strong education background in the field of engineering and automation. Thomas first attended the Technische Universität Ilmenau, where they completed a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik from 2000 to 2005. Following this, they pursued further academic excellence and achieved a Ph.D. (Doktor) in Automatisierung und Systemtechnik from the same institution, Technische Universität Ilmenau, from 2005 to 2013. Additionally, Thomas had a brief period of study at Kanazawa University in 2004, although information about their degree and field of study during this time is not available.
