Ainara Irastorza Landa

Ainara Irastorza Landa has extensive work experience in the field of biomedical engineering. Ainara currently holds the position of Head of Testing CH at SHL Medical since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Project Engineer at the same company from June 2022 to January 2023.

Before joining SHL Medical, Ainara worked at Nobel Biocare, starting in September 2016. Ainara held various positions at the company, including Senior Manager Biomechanics Research/Team Leader from April 2019 to May 2022, Research Manager Biomechanics from December 2017 to April 2019, and Research Engineer Biomechanics from September 2016 to November 2017.

Ainara began their career as a PhD research student at Paul Scherrer Institut from June 2012 to August 2016. Ainara also gained experience as a Visiting Student at Bone Tissue Engineering Center at Carnegie Mellon University from September 2011 to March 2012.

Additionally, they completed an internship at the Biomedical Engineering Department of CEIT from June 2011 to August 2011 and an internship at Membrane Technology - Energy Unit at Tecnalia in July 2010 to August 2010.

Ainara's professional journey started with an internship at IKEI research & consultancy, S.A. in July 2008 to August 2008.

Throughout their career, Ainara has obtained a diverse range of experiences and expertise in the field of biomedical engineering through their various roles and internships with reputable companies and institutions.

Ainara Irastorza Landa pursued their education in chronological order, starting with an Exchange program under the ERASMUS programme at DTU - Technical University of Denmark in 2010. Ainara then moved on to complete a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Materials Science, from the University of Navarra from 2006 to 2012. Subsequently, they enrolled at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2012 to 2016 as a PhD student in the field of Materials Science.
