La SHLMR (Société d’Habitations à Loyer Modéré de la Réunion) fut créée en 1971 par Pierre LAGOURGUE, alors président du Conseil Général de La Réunion. 

La SHLMR est au cœur des enjeux du territoire : un acteur intervenant à la croisée des problématiques de logement et d’emploi, implanté sur 23 des 24 communes réunionnaises, et accompagnant près de 25 000 ménages. La SHLMR est aujourd’hui perçue comme un partenaire de premier plan par l’Etat, les collectivités locales, et les habitants de nos quartiers.
