Niels Alston

Niels Alston is a Modelling and Simulation Engineer at Shoal Group Pty Ltd since April 2021, with prior experience as an Associate Technical Consultant at DXC Technology from February 2018 to December 2020. In the previous role, Niels developed and implemented simulation software for Command Team Trainers, designed a hardware solution for a voice communications emulator, and created an HLA to DIS gateway for an ESM trainer. Niels also performed systems engineering and requirements analysis, along with administering virtualised instances of Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence. Niels holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Computer Science in Mechatronics from UNSW, completed in 2017, and has a foundational education from St Andrews Cathedral School.
