James Haikney

James Haikney is a Principal Associate specializing in Energy and Infrastructure at Shoosmiths since September 2022, bringing extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. Previous roles include Legal Compliance Manager and Senior Legal Counsel at ITM Power from July 2019 to September 2022, and Solicitor at Wrigleys Solicitors from July 2018 to July 2019. James’s expertise encompasses a variety of energy-related matters, including Power Purchase Agreements, project financing, construction and maintenance contracts, subsidies, regulatory compliance, and energy sale and purchase agreements. Earlier experience at DLA Piper as an Associate involved significant contributions to high-profile international energy projects, including the 1000MW Fosen Wind project in Norway and financing multiple wind farm initiatives in Northern Ireland.
