Leslie Plaza Johnson has been working in the photography field since 1990. Leslie Plaza began as a Freelance Photographer for Geotropica, followed by a Sports Photographer for MaxPreps in 2012. In 2013, they became a Sports and Events Photographer for Corbis Wire and a Photographer for Icon Sportswire. In 2015, they took on the role of Camera Operator for Drone Dimensions. Leslie Plaza then became a Freelance Photographer for the Houston Chronicle in 2016 and Photographer for Shoot2Sell Architectural Photography in 2018. In 2021, they started working as a Freelance Photographer for The Galveston County Daily News, and in 2020 they began working as an Adjunct Instructor and Photography Instructor at SAN JACINTO COLLEGE SOUTH CAMPUS and University of Houston-Clear Lake, respectively.

Leslie Plaza Johnson has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Rice University in Fine/Studio Arts, General, obtained in 1994. Leslie Plaza also has a Master of Arts (M.A.) from University of Houston-Clear Lake in Cross-Cultural Studies, obtained in 2000. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from University of Houston-Clear Lake in Communication and Media Studies, obtained in 1992. Leslie Plaza also has a Bachelor's degree from Ecole des Roches in Hotel/Motel Administration/Management, obtained in 1983. In 2013, they attended Santa Fe Photographic Workshops for Photography. In October 2015, they obtained a QEP Professional Development Workshop from University of Houston-Clear Lake.
