Maksim Pavlov

Maksim Pavlov has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and analytics. Maksim started their career at Sibirskiy Spas, an insurance company, where they worked as an Analyst, supporting the management and expansion team with market analysis and product research. Maksim played a key role in opening two new branches and optimizing insurance fees.

After that, Maksim worked as an Analyst at Video International, where they analyzed market trends and provided valuable insights to improve the company's strategy and increase market share.

Maksim then joined MEC as a Senior Analyst and later became the R&D Teamlead. In these roles, they were responsible for data research, data modeling, and database administration. Maksim also developed software and scripts for data processing and worked with various data sources and platforms.

Maksim further expanded their expertise by working at OSA Hybrid Platform (OSA HP) as a Senior Data Scientist, where they focused on machine learning and natural language processing projects for top retail companies. Maksim worked on text analytics and data integration tasks, connecting multiple databases and building a metacatalog.

Maksim joined Revolut as the Head of People Analytics, where they leveraged advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to help recruiters identify strong-performing candidates. Maksim built and implemented ML pipelines for modeling and scoring.

Currently, Maksim is working at X5 Retail Group as the Manager of Machine Learning. Maksim has been responsible for stabilizing the AB testing platform, revamping the methodology, and managing a team of 50+ people. Additionally, they have been developing a big data machine learning system for demand forecasting using Python, LightGBM, Hive, Spark, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

In 2022, Maksim started working at ShopBack as the Manager of Machine Learning. Maksim leads the ML teams focused on risk and recommendation. Maksim'sresponsibilities include making personal recommendations for app users and developing risk scoring for the PayLater service. Maksim is experienced in ML operations, using tools such as Kubernetes, Feast, MLflow, and monitoring and analytics.

Throughout their career, Maksim has demonstrated a strong expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and team leadership. Maksim has worked on various projects involving data processing, modeling, and integration, and has a track record of delivering impactful insights and solutions.

Maksim Pavlov completed their education from 2003 to 2008 at Kemerovo State University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera. These certifications include Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks for Machine Learning, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Big Data Integration and Processing, Big Data Modeling and Management Systems, Introduction to Big Data, and Machine Learning With Big Data. The certifications were obtained between 2017 and 2017.
