Giuliano Formato

Giuliano Formato has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Giuliano began their career in 2009 as a Barman at Spaghetti House | Restaurant Group in London, where they honed their customer care skills and adapted to different work environments. In 2012, they worked as a Research Assistant at IMDEA Networks, focusing on reducing power consumption in cellular access networks. During this role, they gained knowledge in Matlab, wireless networks, queueing theory, and statistics and probability theory.

From 2013 to 2017, Giuliano worked at ICONSULTING as a Business Analytics Specialist, Consultant, and Senior Consultant. Giuliano managed relationships with different customers across Europe and participated in challenging projects.

In 2016, they became a Guest Lecturer at Bologna Business School - Università di Bologna, where they taught classes on Data Science and Big Data Analytics. Giuliano covered topics such as data science tools, big data management, data lake architectures, and real-world use cases.

Starting from 2017, Giuliano joined ShopFully and held various positions such as Data Architect, Data Engineer Team Leader, Head of Data Engineering, and currently serves as the Head of Data Solutions.

In 2018, they had the honor of collaborating with Università di Bologna as a Guest Lecturer, teaching a class on Big Data Architecture on Amazon Web Services.

Throughout their career, Giuliano Formato has demonstrated a strong expertise in data analysis, architecture, and management, along with a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge.

Giuliano Formato completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Technology from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II in 2009. Giuliano then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Information Technology from the same university, graduating in 2013. As part of an Erasmus Programme in 2011, they attended the University of Crete's Department of Computer Science. Giuliano also obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in 2022 and multiple Coursera Course Certificates in subjects like Reproducible Research, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, and R Programming, all obtained in 2016. Giuliano additionally holds a First certificate in English, with competencies at level C1, which was awarded by the University of Cambridge in 2011.
