Nathan Thomas

Nathan Thomas is an experienced compliance professional currently serving as the Director of Compliance at Shopify since April 2023, where responsibilities include driving compliance with financial regulatory requirements. Prior to this role, Nathan spent nearly a decade at Google as a Senior Manager in Payments Compliance, leading Customer Screening and Identity Verification Operations. Nathan also held a position as Senior Vice President of AML Risk Compliance at Citi, managing the Compliance Risk Assessment Team focused on enhancing compliance programs. Earlier in Nathan's career at PwC, skills were developed over seven years assisting large banks and investment companies in improving operational efficiency, including managing a team for a global review of a leading bank's AML monitoring environment. Nathan holds a BA in Computer Science with a focus on Pre-Engineering from Yeshiva University.
