Shane Lawrence

Shane Lawrence is an accomplished Senior Staff Security Engineer at Shopify, where since August 2017, Shane has led a 25-person team to set technical visions and guide comprehensive security programs. In previous roles at Shopify, including Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer and Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Shane has built automated security tools and mentored engineers while collaborating with various teams to enhance application security. Prior to joining Shopify, Shane served as a Senior Consultant and SIEM Specialist at CGI, automating logging systems and enhancing security infrastructure. Shane's earlier experience includes roles as a Network Security Specialist and Vulnerability Assessment Specialist with the Government of Canada, alongside serving as an Aerospace Telecommunications Technician, ensuring safety and system integrity in critical environments.
