Thomas Schäfer

Thomas Schmelzle is an experienced industrial designer currently employed at SDI Technologies, Inc. since August 2022. Previously, Thomas worked as a production designer at Nephros, focusing on design for medical, healthcare, and commercial filtration materials, and as a graphic and web designer at Matrix Mirrors, where responsibilities included UI/UX for web interactions. Thomas also served as a multimedia studio assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, managing large format printers, and as a launchpad lead student coordinator for design events at the College of Design. Additionally, Thomas provided CAD modeling consulting for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, teaching Autodesk Fusion 360 for prosthetic device design. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Product Design from Georgia Institute of Technology and participation in an exchange program at Eindhoven University of Technology.
