Alex Martín Clemente has a diverse work experience in the fields of robotics and control engineering, technology, and space exploration. In 2013, they became the Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of Shoppermotion, a company seeking to transform the physical retail store sector with its proprietary mapping technology. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Ph.D. student in Robotics and Control Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, specializing in electropolymer materials and control strategies. During this time, they also served as the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of beMee Technology and as an external researcher and developer at ARQUIMEA. In 2005, they worked with the European Space Agency on the ESMO project, designing and programming an 8th order Gauss-Jackson integrator for orbit propagation.
Alex Martín Clemente has a long and varied educational background. Alex obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ingeniería eléctrica, electrónica y automática from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid between 2010 and 2013. From 2017 to 2018, they attended Stanford University to study Machine Learning. In 2011, they completed an Enterprise Skills Course from Escuela de Organización Industrial and a Master Thesis (at Dep. of Systems Engineering and Automation) from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In 2010 and 2011, they obtained an Official Master in Robotics and Automation from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master Thesis (at Intelligent System Lab) in Computer Vision from the same institution. Finally, they obtained their Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid between 2004 and 2009. In 2018, they also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera.
