Matej Kaposvary has a diverse range of work experience. Matej started their career in 2010 as the CEO of KPI Group, a student company based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. In this role, they successfully developed, promoted, and sold a unique product called P-work.
From 2013 to 2016, Matej held various roles at Junior Achievement Czech Republic. Matej served as the Office Manager from October 2013 to September 2014, where they contributed to event and project management, as well as communication and partnership development. Matej then transitioned to the position of Business Development Manager, where they focused on advocating for the importance of entrepreneurial education and building relationships with national companies.
In 2012, Matej became involved with JA Alumni Czech Republic, first serving as the Vice President for Corporate Relations and then as the President from October 2013 to August 2016. In these roles, they led a team and organized events and projects for students interested in entrepreneurship. Matej'sresponsibilities included keeping the team on track and equipping students with essential business and networking skills.
In 2016, Matej joined JA Alumni Europe as the Vice President, actively contributing to the organization's mission of providing former JA program participants with further opportunities and building an international network of like-minded individuals. Matej served in this capacity until July 2018.
In 2018, Matej also took on the role of Content Director at EXEC Magazine. Through this publication, they assisted e-commerce executives in making strategic decisions by providing insights, facts, and discussions on global trends. Matej successfully published ten issues and received recognition from professional competitions.
Starting in 2014, Matej's career took a different direction when they co-founded ShopCamp, one of the most popular e-commerce conferences in the Czech Republic. ShopCamp has attracted over 5,000 participants and featured speakers from notable companies such as Alza, Notino, and Kytary.
Finally, Matej joined Shopsys in 2014 and held various positions within the company. Matej began as a Marketing Specialist, responsible for online and offline marketing strategies and building an e-commerce community. In January 2018, they were promoted to Marketing Director, overseeing the marketing team and strategy until March 2020. Matej then transitioned to the role of Sales & Marketing Director, which they held until June 2021. From July 2021 to March 2022, they served as the Chief Operating Officer, before being promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer in April 2022. As CEO, Matej leads a team of 70 e-commerce professionals, oversees main business KPIs, and is responsible for customer acquisition. Matej also represents the company in media outlets.
Matej Kaposvary has a Master's Degree in Management with a minor in Consulting from the Prague University of Economics and Business, which they pursued from 2016 onwards. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Cybernetics & Robotics from the Czech Technical University in Prague between 2012 and 2016. Matej completed their secondary education at Gymnázium, Ostrava-Hrabůvka, p.o. from 2004 to 2012, where their field of study was not mentioned. Additionally, they obtained a certification in TOEFL iBT (108/120) in March 2016.
