Michal Špaček

Michal Špaček has extensive experience working in web security, performance, and architecture. Michal has worked as Head of Security for Shoptet and as an Independent Freelancer. Michal has done 100 talks and counting, including 4 times in a row at BSides/Passwords in Las Vegas. Michal has also worked as a Software Developer for Report URI, Security Engineer for Apiary, and Lead Web Developer for Slevomat. Michal has significant experience building web applications in PHP, including Account, Skype Manager, and Skype secure web at Skype. Michal has also worked in network administration and as a freelancer for their own one-man show company, focusing on internet websites and applications, network, and server administration, and co-founded a web hosting service. Michal is passionate about teaching web developers and managers how to build secure and fast web applications and introducing best practices to keep teams safe and secure.

Michal Špaček started their education at the Engineering Secondary School in České Budějovice in 1994, where they studied light-current electrical engineering and completed their studies in 1998. Michal then attended SVOŠ, ČB from 1998-2000, but did not complete a degree program. From 2000-2003, they attended the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, where they studied Information Technology, but dropped out before obtaining a degree. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Zend Certified Engineer for PHP 5 certification in October 2009, and a Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance in June 2011.
