Mark Stubbs has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Mark began their career in 1991 working in Network Operations at MCNC. In 1993, they joined Apple Computer as an Engineer, where they worked on various Power Macintosh designs and helped verify the PCI bridge and developed the PCI Arbiter. In 1996, they moved to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) as an Engineer. In 1997, they joined Echelon as a Senior Engineer, where they designed Power Line Communications (PLT-22, PL 3120, PL 3150) modems and migrated an 8-bit microcontroller design from schematic to Verilog RTL. In 2002, they became the Owner of Bibaja Automation, where they developed commercial control systems using power line communications technology and IoT sensors to monitor water usage and prevent water waste. In 2011, they joined Google as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they were a key member of Android@Home developing IoT products to extend the Android ecosystem to home control and monitoring, and worked on a robotics team to develop cloud connected growing platforms. In 2016, they co-founded Shoreline IoT and served as the Principal Architect.
Mark Stubbs attended North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics from 1986 to 1988. Mark then went on to North Carolina State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) between 1988 and 1993, focusing on Electronics, Computers, Software, and Networking.
