Irene Cheng has a diverse work experience in the fashion industry. Irene started their career as an Assistant/Associate Buyer at Macy's from 2004 to 2009. Irene then worked as an Associate Buyer for Juniors Knit tops at Ross Stores from 2009 to 2010. Irene then joined Sears Holdings Corporation as a Buyer for Missy/Junior Dresses & Outerwear from 2010 to 2012. Irene went on to become a Merchandise Manager for Fashion, Accessories, & Beauty at Joyus, Inc. from April 2012 to October 2012. Irene then joined Charlotte Russe and held various roles including Merchandise Manager, Director of Omni Merchandising, and Divisional Merchandise Manager from 2012 to 2019. Irene continued their career at Banana Republic as an Omni Divisional Merchandise Manager focusing on non-apparel, knits, and sweaters from April 2019 to June 2020. Irene is currently serving as the Head of Merchandising & Inventory Management at Short Story, a Y Combinator-backed startup, since July 2020.

Irene Cheng holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
