Nathan Keynes has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Nathan started their career as an Intern at Sun Microsystems Laboratories in 2001, where they worked on the Walkabout binary translation project. Nathan then joined Virgin Blue as a Software Developer in 2003, focusing on system integration, web services, and e-commerce.

In 2006, Nathan joined CSIRO as a Snr Software Engineer, where they worked on software architecture, design, and implementation for the Health Data Integration (HDI) and MILX View projects. Nathan also developed software processes and handled some Unix system administration.

Nathan moved to Sun Microsystems in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Engineer. Nathan then joined Oracle in 2010 and held various roles, including Senior Member Technical Staff and Senior Development Manager. In these positions, they contributed to the development of the Parfait static code analysis tool and was responsible for code quality improvement, testing infrastructure development, and release engineering.

From 2017 to 2020, Nathan worked as a Consulting Research Engineer and Principal Research Engineer at Oracle. In 2020, they joined Shorthand as a Senior Principal Engineer and was later promoted to the role of VP of Technology in July 2021.

Throughout their career, Nathan demonstrated strong technical skills and experience in software development, architecture, and project management.

Nathan Keynes has pursued a comprehensive education in the field of technology and computer science. Nathan began their educational journey in 1996 at The University of Queensland, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, although this degree remained incomplete. In the following years, Nathan switched their focus to Information Technology, completing a Bachelor's degree from The University of Queensland between 1997 and 2000. Nathan continued their academic pursuits, venturing into the field of Computer Science, enrolling in a PhD program at The University of Queensland in 2001. However, their PhD degree in Computer Science remains incomplete, as their education history does not provide any information beyond the specified start and end years.
