Shailesh Kumar

Shailesh Kumar is a prominent figure in the field of AI, currently serving as the Chief Data Scientist at Jio and the Dean at Jio Institute, where they focus on transforming education, agriculture, healthcare, and more through digital connectivity and AI. With extensive experience as a Chief Scientist and Co-Founder at ThirdLeap Inc and significant roles at companies like Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo, Shailesh has contributed to advancements in machine learning, natural language understanding, and information retrieval. In academia, they have taught over a thousand students in machine learning at the Indian School of Business and IIIT Hyderabad, fostering the next generation of data scientists. They hold a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where they also earned an M.A. in Artificial Intelligence.
