Athena M. has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2012 with a role as an Administrative Assistant for Orange Guard, Inc. Athena then held a Political Intern role for Congressman Sam Farr at the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2013 to 2017, Athena M. was a Tennis Instructor at the Carmel Valley Athletic Club and a Hospitality Intern at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Member Services Consultant at Mr & Mrs Smith and held various roles at Shout About Us, including Director of Operations, Director of Customer Success, Senior Customer Success Manager, and Customer Success Manager.

Athena M. received their Bachelor's degree in Communication & Spanish from UC Santa Barbara in 2019. From 2017 to 2018, they attended Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea to study Spanish Language and Literature.
