Alex Pilkington has extensive experience in the music industry. Alex is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Daft Springer since 2021. Prior to that, Alex founded and directed the independent recording, production, and publishing company called Ho Hum Records in 2007. Alex was responsible for signing and working with various artists, as well as managing commercial deals with music distributors.
Before starting Ho Hum Records, Alex was a musician and producer for Custom Blue from 1996 to 2021. The band was signed to Universal Island Records and had their track featured in the film 'The Transporter.' They also remixed for other artists and released music on different labels.
From 2015 to 2020, Alex held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Funnel Music Ltd. Alex built a roster of artists and created a network of music professionals who worked at discounted rates in exchange for revenue shares. Prior to that, they were a music producer and sound engineer at The Session Rooms from 2011 to 2019.
Alex also co-founded a tech startup called Bagzit Ltd in 2014, which won awards for their audio coding technology. Additionally, they worked as a guitarist at Point Blank Studios from 2008 to 2011 and as a sales manager at Directline Holidays from 2003 to 2008.
Early in their career, Alex was part of Custom Blue under Universal Music Group from 1999 to 2003.
Alex Pilkington attended Alleyns School from 1984 to 1990, where they obtained some GCSEs. In 1989 to 1990, Alex also attended Kingsway College. Additionally, they have an FA Level 1 Football Coaching certification.
