Alex Segura has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2021, they are currently serving as the CEO & Co-Founder of Showdrop, a position they hold along with being a Special Projects Manager at Ruggable®. In 2020, Alex worked as a Market Expansion Manager at Lalamove. Prior to that, they had a significant tenure at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2017 to 2020, where they held roles as a Project Leader and Consultant. Alex also served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School in 2015. Before that, they contributed to The World Bank as a Consultant for their Macroeconomics and Fiscal Management Global Practice Group, producing valuable research on Indian manufacturing employment growth. Alex's earlier experience includes working as a Project Manager at Innovations for Poverty Action, where they oversaw the implementation of impactful evaluations and managed various stakeholders. Alex also worked as an Economic Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis in 2009.
Alex Segura completed their Bachelor of Arts degree at Indiana University Bloomington from 2004 to 2009. Their major was in Economics, with minors in Mathematics, African Studies, and French. Subsequently, they pursued higher education at Harvard University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from 2012 to 2017.
