Shreveport Symphony Orchestra
Michael Butterman is an accomplished music director with extensive experience leading various orchestras, including the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra, Pennsylvania Philharmonic, and Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. Butterman served as the Principal Conductor for Education and Community Engagement at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra from September 2000 to May 2019 and held the positions of Resident and Associate Conductor at the Jacksonville Symphony. Additionally, Butterman was the Music Director for OPERA SOUTHWEST and acted as Director of Orchestras at Louisiana State University. Butterman’s educational background includes degrees from Indiana University Bloomington, the University of Maryland, and the University of Virginia.
