Korkut Uygun

Korkut Uygun is a Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, with a notable academic career that began in November 2006. Uygun established the Organ Reengineering Lab, which has achieved over 1,000 citations in the last five years and secures approximately $1 million in direct funding annually. Additionally, Uygun serves as the Deputy Director of Research at Shriners Hospital in Boston, overseeing research initiatives funded by around $4 million, and holds the position of Founding Co-Director at the Cell Resource Core at Massachusetts General Hospital. Uygun's prior experience includes a post-doctoral fellowship at Wayne State University, focusing on mathematical modeling for liver disease analysis. Uygun earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Wayne State University, following an MS and BS in the same field from Boğaziçi University.
