Derrick Johnson

Derrick Johnson currently serves as the Director of Event Programming at SHRM, leading the strategy and execution of transformative learning experiences for HR professionals, with significant audience engagement. Previously, Derrick was the Director of Convention & Events at the National Medical Association, overseeing large-scale event operations for a major annual conference. As the Founder and CEO of The Organization for Social Empact, Derrick focused on inclusive experiences and improved DEIA practices. Derrick also contributed as a contractor for ASAE, teaching strategy for member engagement, and served as the Director of Business Development and Strategy at Talley Management Group, where initiatives enhanced client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Derrick holds a Master's degree in Business Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and a Bachelor's degree in Music Teacher Education from the University of Florida.
