Derrick Johnson

Derrick Johnson, II, CMP, DES, serves as the Director of Event Programming at SHRM, spearheading the strategy and execution of impactful event content for HR professionals. With a robust background in managing large-scale events, Derrick has previous experience as the Director of Convention & Events for the National Medical Association and as the Founder & CEO of The Organization for Social Empact, where achievements include enhancing DEIA practices. Derrick has also contributed to educational initiatives as a Teaching Faculty contractor for ASAE and has held leadership roles at Talley Management Group, PCMA, the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, YPO, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, and the National Association for Gifted Children. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Business Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Teacher Education from the University of Florida.
