Kristen Shaffer

Kristen Shaffer has a diverse work experience. Kristen started their career as a Competition Participant in the Northern Illinois University 2L Prize Moot Court Competition and the Appellate Lawyers Association National Moot Court Competition in 2010. Kristen then worked as an Extern at the Office of the State Appellate Defender in 2010. In the same year, they also worked as a 711 Law Clerk at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic. In 2011, they became a Clinical Intern at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic and also joined Kids First Law Center as a Staff Attorney. Kristen'snext position was at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, P.L.C. where they served as an Attorney and Vice President starting in July 2014. Throughout their career, they also worked as a Research Assistant at Northern Illinois University from 2009 to 2011, supporting Professor Jeanna Hunter in the College of Law.

Kristen Shaffer attended the University of Iowa from 2004 to 2008, where they received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Science and Entreproneurial Management. Kristen then went on to study at Northern Illinois University from 2008 to 2011, earning a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in the field of Law. In 2009, they also briefly studied at Université de Bordeaux, focusing on Civil Law and European Union Law.
