Egidijus Cepelis

Egidijus Cepelis has extensive work experience in the field of software development and management. Egidijus currently serves as the Head of Software Development at Šiaulių Bankas, a position they have held since March 2021.

Prior to their current role, Egidijus worked at Danske Bank for over six years. Egidijus started as a Development Manager in October 2014 and later became a Team Manager in October 2019. As the Team Manager, they were responsible for enhancing mobile authentication solutions and improving customer experience. Egidijus led a team of nearly 30 people and owned various business-critical products and solutions.

Before joining Danske Bank, Egidijus worked at Swedbank for eight years. Egidijus held various roles, including Project Portfolio Manager and Project and Portfolio Manager. During their time at Swedbank, they managed strategic IT projects and initiatives within the Hansabank Group, including offshoring development center projects and resource management projects.

Egidijus also has experience working at AB bank Hansabankas, where they served as the IT Director for five years. In this role, they managed the internal IT department and oversaw key projects such as the implementation of IT systems for banking operations, business transformation, and the establishment of a cross-border IT organization in Baltics. Egidijus was responsible for project portfolio management, service implementation and delivery, people management, financial management, procurement, vendor-relationship management, and stakeholder management.

Furthermore, Egidijus worked at Informacines Technologijos as a Developer and Business Analyst and at the Lithuanian Securities Commission as a Software Engineer at the beginning of their career.

Egidijus Cepelis has a diverse education background. In 1988, they started their undergraduate studies at Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University, where they focused on Economics and IT. Egidijus completed their studies in 1993. Following this, from 1993 to 1995, they attended Goethe University Frankfurt, where they studied Economics and Informatics.

After a break in their formal education, Egidijus returned to studies in 2006 at ISM University of Management and Economics. In this period, which lasted until 2009, they pursued a wide range of subjects, including Marketing, Corporate Finance, and Leadership, but did not obtain a specific degree.

In addition to their formal education, Egidijus has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2005, they earned the Foundation Certificate in IT-Service Management from EXIN. Egidijus later obtained the CSM certification from Scrum Alliance in 2016, followed by the CSPO certification in 2017. In 2018, they completed the Certified Agile Leadership I program offered by BadgeCert.
