Bongekile Ngqulunga

Bongekile Ngqulunga has a diverse work experience in the mining industry. Bongekile started their career in 2001 as a Graduate Metallurgist at Anglo Platinum, where they later became a Plant Metallurgist and then a Process Metallurgist. In 2007, they joined Lonmin Plc as a Senior Process Engineer and worked there until 2010. During their time at Lonmin, they also held the roles of Process Manager at the Precious Metals Refinery and Product Manager. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as the Head of Operations at Lonmin Plc. Currently, Bongekile is the VP and Head of Surface Operations at Sibanye-Stillwater, a position they have held since August 2021.

Bongekile Ngqulunga has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Metallurgy from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, which was completed in 2013. Before that, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology, from 1997 to 2000. In addition, they obtained a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2007 to 2009, though the field of study is unspecified.
